Prioritize Your Mental Health! Join Our Virtual Expert-Led Mental Health Wellness Group in North Carolina.

In this fast-moving and sometimes overwhelming world we live in, our mental health can unfortunately end up on the back-burner. Learn to prioritize your mental health wellness so that you can be more present and effective in your life and relationships.

Navigating life’s challenges with resilience is crucial. We don’t believe in toxic positivity. It’s not realistic to have “good vibes only.” There are waves in the ocean. So how do you cope when it feels like you’re still recovering from previous waves and new ones keep coming? What does it actually mean to “‘be resilient”? It doesn’t mean you don’t get knocked down, or that it isn’t difficult when that happens. Actual resilience is about learning how to flex so that you can move with the waves instead of getting pummeled, and get back up a bit easier. Our evidence-based Mental Health Wellness Group, led by Dr. Katherine Bracken, a doctoral-level clinical psychologist specializing in DBT and trauma-informed care, offers the support you need.

Our group helps you learn how to soothe yourself when you feel upset or distressed, prepare for difficult times, increase the likelihood that you will be successful in your goals and relationships in the future, change your relationship to your inner dialogue and emotions, and improve your interpersonal connections. We can’t waive a magic wand and make every problem in your life go away (we sure would if we could!) but we can give you the tools and confidence to meet those problems head on so that you can tackle life with a renewed sense of agency and joy. That’s a pretty good place to be.

This group will help you:

  • Break down barriers to mental wellness
  • Develop skills for healthier thinking and emotional regulation
  • Strengthen communication and assertiveness abilities, increasing the likelihood that others will observe your boundaries
  • Embrace mindfulness and effective distress tolerance techniques
  • Discover the power of self-compassion and problem-solving strategies
  • Gain invaluable support from a compassionate and understanding community

Content/Skills covered on a rotating basis:

  • CBT basics (healthy thinking)
  • Distress tolerance (how to cope without making things worse)
  • Emotion regulation
  • Interpersonal effectiveness/communication/assertiveness
  • Mindfulness
  • Dialectics (how to find peace and middle ground when everything seems black and white)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Self-compassion
  • Principles of behaviorism/shaping (how to change your behavior)
  • Behavioral activation (how to get going when you feel like doing anything is impossible)
  • Intuitive eating
  • Identifying/moving towards values (finding meaning and doing what matters)
  • Relapse prevention (how not to fall back into bad habits)
  • Anger management
  • Coping with urges to avoid

Led by Dr. Katherine Bracken, a seasoned clinical psychologist, our group is grounded in evidence-based practices. With specialized training in DBT and trauma-informed care, you’ll receive expert guidance from a dedicated professional committed to your well-being.

Define Your Next Chapter with Growth & Wellness Therapy

Participating in a mental health therapy group is a powerful way to help yourself work through difficult problems and gain support for issues that may have felt isolating or overwhelming in the past. Perhaps you’re considering group therapy as a soft start to your mental health journey; or perhaps you’re using it as a tool to augment and enhance existing mental health care, such as therapy or medication management. However you choose to use group therapy, it will be a point in your life that marks a meaningful growth.

Therapy groups teach you that you are not alone; that you are stronger than you know; and teach you skills to be equipped to meet life on life’s terms so that you set goals and reach them. The benefit of working with others is that you get to hear them share their similar experiences, which can help you feel validated and less alone in your experience. Group members will also provide valuable feedback, perspective, and insight that will help you see yourself and your situation in a new light while decreasing your sense of isolation.

Our approach creates the ripples of change.

Specialized Treatment: Trauma-Informed Care

The entire Breyta experience has been carefully structured through trauma-informed methodology; from our dedicated team of trauma-informed therapists, all of whom provide care with the utmost sensitivity and intentionality, to our waiting room and offices, all designed from a trauma-informed lens.

Elevated Expertise: Doctoral-Level Psychologists

In order to provide the highest level of psychological care, every one of our clinical psychologists has received their doctorate in the mental health field. We use our specialized knowledge and expertise to offer the most comprehensive and innovative therapeutic approaches.

Innovative Techniques: Process-Based Psychotherapy

Through process-based therapy, the most innovative form of evidence-based therapy, we gain a comprehensive understanding of what makes you who you are, including the core processes keeping you stuck. We then intentionally choose a unique combination of evidence-based approaches to create the most effective treatment plan for you.

Personalized Approach: Client-Centric Practice

The experiences that have shaped you and how you processed them are completely unique. Our client-centric approach to therapy is just as personal, placing you at the center of your care. The specific therapy you receive is a direct reflection of you, evolving with you as you heal and grow.
